Configuration Manager

INSIGHT's Configuration Manager records and reports the status of Requests For Change and verifies the completeness and correctness of Configuration Items.

The Configuration Manager maintains a detailed record of information that describes an enterprise's IT and Telecommunications environment, including all hardware and software components and all Adds Moves and Changes (MAC's). Such information includes the versions and updates that have been applied to installed software packages and the locations and network addresses of hardware devices.

An advantage of the configuration manager is that the entire collection of systems can be reviewed to make sure any changes made to one system do not adversely affect any of the other systems
